The interior space
In Notre-Dame-de-Monts, discover Biotopia, an immersive space that invites you to explore the world of the coast and the forest, both visible and invisible, thanks to multimedia technologies.
This unique venue features a 250 m² interactive exhibition with over 40 sensory activities, as well as a 40-hectare outdoor trail between dune, forest and ocean.
An original, fun experience for nature lovers and the curious of all ages.
The ocean, the dune and the forest will no longer hold any secrets for you! Explore these ecosystems through unique interactive and educational activities:
- Le petit peuple de la dune: enjoy an immersive experience as you shrink to the size of an insect to discover the hidden life of the dune through scale models.
- The interactive pond: immerse yourself in the world of the species that inhabit ponds thanks to a captivating 3D animation.
- Hide-and-seek in the sand: a fun way to learn how to recognize the species hidden in the sand.
Outdoor space
Less than 10 minutes from the Saint-Jean-de-Monts campsite, Biotopia covers 40 hectares of unspoilt nature. Stroll along its paths and discover the richness and diversity of its landscapes:
- The foreshore, linking land and ocean
- The dune, constantly changing with the seasons
- The forest, populated by holm oaks, pines and cypresses
For a complete immersion experience, there are several options:
- The Nagomi trail (in partnership with Biotopia Japan): equipped with a geolocation tablet, discover the benefits of “forest bathing” through fun challenges.
- The arboretum: a freely accessible area set up by the ONF, complemented by the free Explorer la forêt du Pays de Monts application.
- Self-guided tours on foot or by bike, using the surrounding cycle paths.
- Themed walks and nature workshops (booking required), led by enthusiastic guides, day and evening.
Children are also catered for, with activities designed to awaken their curiosity.
A year-round program of events
Biotopia lives to the rhythm of the seasons, offering a rich program of events accessible to all.
Take part in themed days such as International Forest Day, Fête de la Nature or Mushroom Day.
In summer, enjoy original walks and the CinéNature open-air screening, a unique experience under the stars.
Every spring, don’t miss La Belle Action, an eco-responsible event inviting young and old to take part in beach clean-ups.
