The tone is set every morning at the Halles, near the church, where you can find Vendée’s specialties, brioche, caillebotte, préfou, mogette, without forgetting the famous trouspinette (local wine).

The beach
Saint Jean de Monts is also, of course, famous for the beach... With 5 miles of sandy beaches, there is plenty to do... Basking, sunbathing, swimming, playing, it is up to you !
Did you know that Vendée is called "Côte de Lumière", i.e. "Coast of Light" ? This nickname comes from the sunshine which is the same as of the French Riviera.
