What is the best route?
Saint Jean de Monts is a sea resort of Vendée at the south of Brittany.
If you come from Northern Europe, we recommend you to travel via the cities of Nantes, Machecoul and Challans. Remember that many French holidaymakers are on the roads on Saturdays and you might be blocked in a traffic jam. During the first week in August try to avoid coastal roads, as they can be very busy.
The campsite GPS coordinates are N 46° 48' 27" - W 2° 06' 18".
The campsite is located on the road to Notre Dame de Monts (D38). If you arrive into Saint Jean de Monts from Challans - as suggested - head towards "Noirmoutier par le Pont". To do so, turn right at the first round-about, carry on on the main road straight over the second round-about, turn right at the third round-about. And then you are on the right road.
Local camping sites are usually signposted, but these signs are very small. So do not drive too fast or you will miss them.
The closest railway station is in Challans. During the summer, a regular daily bus service serves the 11 mile journey from Challans to St Jean de Monts.
